OCTOBER 2-3, 2015
The Vita et Veritas Conference, now in its third year, aims to bring a distinctive, distinguished, and diverse collection of pro-life voices to Yale, making the pro-life vision intelligible and accessible to our campus and to students hailing from across America. We invite all pro-life college students to join us on the Yale campus for an informative, inspirational, and fun weekend of pro-life discourse. We also welcome Yale students of all beliefs about abortion to join us for the talks, to hear a different view than the one typically presented on our campus.
Pro-life organizations at large liberal universities are often marginalized or condemned for a viewpoint that is hardly in vogue within society. But we are confident that pro-life students will emerge to rally behind our cause, because however great its opposition may be, it has truth at its back. Human dignity demands the protection of the law for all human life, especially at its most vulnerable stages. Pro-life women demand that society stop telling them they have to choose between their children and their ambitions; they demand that American culture change to respect them both for their professional abilities and the unique capacity they have to bring new human life into the world. All of us, whether or not we have ever experienced or been directly affected by an abortion, have felt the negative effects of a culture that views respect and love for each human person as a "choice" contingent on circumstance. Our generation is increasingly pro-life and more pro-life than that of our parents. Stand together with us in October to give witness to the fact that the case is not closed on abortion in America.
For the 2015 Conference, we will be taking a special look at the pro-life cause and human dignity in the arts, media, and popular culture. Check out the new essay contest here!
